In the opening weekend of the season, Senior Sarah Purcell led the team to a 5-1 victory over WPI in Worcester, Massachusetts. Purcell notched the first hat trick of the year for the team as the look to continue their fast start this weekend in conference play.
September 12 - 18, 2016
During the Men's Rugby Home Opener, Senior Captain Patrick Walpole helped lead his team to a commanding 45-17 victory over Hofstra. Walpole played a key role in several big stops for the X-Men as the look to role into another big weekend in conference play.

The Sacred Heart Club Football team made their debut in the NCFA Kickoff Classic against the University of Pittsburgh and Captain Will Kassar led the team to a 68-6 victory. During the game, Kassar threw for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding 32 yards rushing.
September 26 - October 2, 2016
The Sacred Heart Men's Club Hockey team swept their weekend games defeating SCSU and Montclair. Coviello had a total of 7 points in both games this weekend and has tallied 6 goals and 5 assists through the teams first 5 games!
January 23 - February 5, 2017
The Men's Club Volleyball team had a successful weekend against several big schools. The competed against the Coast Guard Academy, UConn and Providence College. Senior Sheamus Cannon helped lead the team with 9 kills and 3 blocks!
February 4 - 12, 2017
The previous two weeks of Athlete of the Week awards are both from the Sacred Heart Club Figure Skating Team! Two freshman, Ruby Jusas and Tessa Peredy, won the honors because of their respective performances at a Qualifying Competition on February 4th up at MIT in Massachusetts.
Tessa Peredy, originally from Maine, scored a monumental 12 points in her first US Figure Skating Qualifying Competition. She scored 4 points (Second Place) in the Senior Ladies Short program, 3 points (Third Place) in the Senior Ladies Freeskate and 5 points (First Place) in the Preliminary Solo Ice Dance!
Ruby Jusas, originally from Long Island, also skating in her first US Figure Skating Qualifying Competition scored 7 points in her performances. She scored 3 points (Third Place) in the Intermediate Ladies Short Program and 4 points (Second Place) in the Intermediate Ladies Freeskate.
"Tessa's short program and Ruby's freeskate were two of the finest performances I have seen in the collegiate circuit. Both were technically close to perfect, with tremendous connection to their music and attention to all details. These ladies are two rising stars!" - Head Coach Lisa Fedick.
February 13 - 19, 2017
DJ Crosby was chosen as this week's AOTW after a 3rd place finish last week. DJ started the day off wresting the #2 seed and returning national qualifier, Senior Jose Velarde of MIT. DJ took Jose down and put him on his back twice to open up an 8-0 lead in first. After they went out of bounds DJ decided to cut Jose making the score 8-1. Jose took DJ down and almost cradled him, but DJ was able to escape the hold and reverse Jose. DJ now in the lead 10-3 turned and pinned Jose before the end of the 1st period
DJ’s next match was against Tyler Petrochko. A Junior from Yale. DJ wrestled tough but ultimately lost to the eventual conference champion.
DJ’s next match was against Laszlo Gendler. A freshmen from Yale. DJ started the match off by taking down Laszlo and releasing him then taking him down again. After releasing Laszlo for a second time, Laszlo attempt to headlock DJ. DJ defend it, making it back to their feet. Laszlo attempted to throw DJ again, but DJ countered with a huge throw of his own, pinning Laszlo.
In DJ’s final match for 3rd place he wrestled Casey Connor of Alfred State. DJ again started off with a series of take downs against Casey, before he threw him with a headlock for his 3rd first period pin and a 3rd place finish.

Senior Nicole Licata was named AOTW for her performance in the teams meet on March 19th. She competed in all 4 events and placed 3rd for her performance on the beam! A true senior leader she has overcome a lot and showed great dedication to her team while competing with an injury.

This week's Athlete of the Week has been awarded to Freshman Women's Lacrosse Goalie Amy Cadle! Amy was extraordinary this past weekend for the Women's Club Lacrosse program helping lead them to a sweep during their road trip to Long Island. She was instrumental in a very satisfying win on Sunday against Hofstra, making 11 huge saves and helping the team to a 16-4 victory. She also made 7 saves against NYU and another 5 against Stony Brook on Saturday, making it very easy for the Club Sports staff to award her the Athlete of the Week.
April 1 - 2, 2017
Sophomore Steven Bauer and Junior Alex Faccenda were both named Athlete of the Week for their contributions in separate games for the Pioneer Club Baseball team this past weekend. Bauer, who was also named NCBA North Atlantic Player of the Week, was the catalyst in the second game of the day. He ended up walking twice, tripled and scored three runs in the big win. Faccenda started the game and went 7 strong innings of four hit baseball. He struck out three over the seven innings, going perfect through his last four innings pitched.

While it may not be as glamorous as the trophy's they received down in Florida, the 2017 Dance Teams keeps making Sacred Heart History. The team had the award renamed the Team of the Week, and deservedly so, after placing 7th and 3rd in respective categories this past weekend. The team is represented by Senior Captains Annamaria Squiccimarri, Christina Li and Michelle Perrotta. For one week only it will be the team of the week, but with the captains representing the program. They traveled to Daytona Beach to compete in the 2017 NDA Nationals where they won the Challenge cup for their Team performance. That led to a 7th place finish in the Team Performance Category but the team shined in the Hip-Hop category, where they beat last years National Champion Stephen F. Austin to finish 3rd in the country!

Brooke Leshin and Allie Hall were named Athletes of the Week for their parts in the success this past weekend. Both had timely hits that propelled the club softball team to the NCSA World Series next month in Columbus Georgia. Brooke, a senior, finished going 7 for 13 (.538 avg) with 2 doubles and an RBI. She was also the game tying run against rutgers sunday morning. Allie hall went 8 for 16 (.500 avg) with a double and 4 rbi’s. she was the power this weekend as she hit the only home run for the pioneers. with their clinching victory over the weekend, the club softball team will be traveling to columbus, georgia to compete in the ncsa world series! the team’s senior game is this upcoming Sunday.
