Club Baseball Looking To Continue Winning Ways this Spring

Fairfield, CT - After going 6-4 in the fall season the Sacred Heart Club Baseball team looks to extend their winning ways this spring. The Pioneers open up their spring season at home on March 16th, as they take on conference foe Northeastern in the last game of a three game series from last semester.

Freshman Patrick Kannaley will be leading the Pioneers pitching staff along with fellow staff member Rj Jackson. Closer Max Morrill and set up man Peter Minore will be returning along with relievers Kyle LaMay and Jon Conforti who will look to eat up some innings for the Pioneers. Amongst those key members to the Pioneers pitching staff shortstop Justin Squarzini and third baseman Tommasso Tollis will see some time on the bump as well.

The Pioneers offense will look to continue their hot hitting with the help from David Esposito (.500), Devon O’Brien (.474), Chris Donato (.444) and senior Michael Goff (.438).  First baseman Jordan Banks (.308) will settle in the middle of the Pioneers lineup with catcher Logan LaRochelle (.360) not far behind. Newcomer Josh Pannerella will see some extended time behind the dish and looks to add some depth in the lineup. Outfielders Bradley Zsamper and Heriberto Rodriguez will return to their starting position and will provide the Pioneers with speed on the base paths and overwhelming defense.
