Over the past five seasons, Sacred Heart University Club Ice Hockey has had great success on and off the ice. The Pioneers have compiled an overall record of 79-44-7. During that time, SHU Club Ice Hockey has been nationally ranked and have also been to the North Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association tournament three times, where the team captured two American Conference Regular Season Championships (2013 and 2014) and two American Conference Tournament Championships (2013 and 2014).
In 2017, SHU moved to the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) Super East Collegiate Hockey League, joining William Patterson University, Montclair State University, University of New Hampshire, Marist College, Siena College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Central Connecticut State University in conference play. SHU ACHA hockey also welcomed head coach Dave Jurasek and assistant coach Geoff Dumas in 2017.
The SHU ACHA hockey roster features student athletes with high school, juniors, and international playing experience. Our student athletes are enrolled in a variety of academic programs across campus, both undergraduate and graduate. Our staff is committed to our players’ success both on and off the ice. The SHU ACHA hockey team also works with a full time athletic trainer on injury recovery and prevention, as well as strength and conditioning programing.
