FAIRFIELD, CT – The Sacred Heart Club Tennis team is preparing for the Spring season with upcoming matches at UNH (New Haven) and the Bryant Invitational.
“Our group had its best finish in program history at the New England Championships this year," said Jeff Barrett, who is in his ninth season as head coach. "We placed 3rd in the Bronze bracket with wins over Holy Cross, UMass Lowell and University of Maine. I was particularly pleased with the team’s compete and resiliency in a Super tiebreaker win against U Maine where we trailed by 10 games going into the mixed doubles set."
“We’ll try to focus on developing some of our younger players this Spring,” Barrett said. “Our goal is to build on our recent success and develop more chemistry in our doubles pairings.”
Sacred Heart’s next match will be at UNH on April 7th, though an earlier indoor match is possible with a number of school’s still working out logistics.
