League of Legends "White Team" Goes 7-0 in Regular Season

Fairfield, CT-  In the 2018 Club Gaming season, the League of Legends team has done it again with their second undefeated season in the Collegiate Star League. Within seven series and a total of fourteen games, the SHU League of Legends White Team destroyed the opposing team’s Nexus every time in the best of three games. The team played against six schools, some of which including University of Massachusetts Amherst, Boston University, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Their hope for a perfect season almost became tainted their second to last series. In the first game of the series against UMASS Amherst Division 3, SHU LoL White killed Baron and sent four members down mid. Devlin was sent top to push down the lane so that UMASS would have to send people to him to stop him. Since players would be sent top lane, their mid lane became vulnerable. The other four members of SHU White pushed mid lane using the empowered minions from the Baron buff. UMASS sent two players top to deal with Devlin, but the other four members of SHU LoL White quickly pushed mid and destroyed the Nexus in a game where UMASS seemed to have the upper hand.

The team is now preparing for the playoffs next semester, in hopes of winning their division. With any luck and a lot of hard work, if the team does well in the playoffs, you’ll be able to find them repping new gear next year. Because of their perfect season, the team now has a bye for the first round of playoffs. The team anticipates further improving and having another great season come the spring. “My freshman year we barely even won a game. I took off my sophomore year, so it was really cool to see how much the team was able to improve this year and actually pull through for flawless season”, says junior Kevin Devlin, who played in six of the seven games.
