Fairfield, CT- On Sunday, April 28th the Sacred Heart Club Softball team honored their three senior captains Stefani Antoshak, Julia Collins, and Allison Hall on senior day. Stefani Antoshak has been on the club softball team for the past 4 years, and serves as a caption for the last two. Antoshak finished her career with a .308 batting average with 3 runs driven in. In the circle she has been dominate. Finishing her career with a 13-5 record, a 3.54 ERA and 50 strikeouts. In her first career start she threw a no hitter earning Pitcher of the Week honors. Next year, Stef will be working as a Human Resource Associate at Fidelity Investments in Boston, Massachusetts.
The second senior honored at senior day was Julia Collins. Julia has been on the club team for the past 4 years and served as a captain for the last two years. Collins concludes her career with a .307 batting average, 49 runs scored, 7 doubles, 3 triples, and 1 homerun with 18 RBI’s and 10 stolen bases. She played the last two years primarily as the team’s starting centerfielder but also played shortstop and leftfield early on in her career. Next year, Julia will continue on her career as a nurse and whichever hospital she chooses will be getting a great nurse.
The third senior honored was Allison Hall. Allie has played club softball for 4 years and also served as a captain for the last two years. She finishes her career by hitting .375 with 62 runs scored, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 4 homeruns, and 51 RBI’s. She has been named the Conference Player of the Week three times throughout her career. In 2017, Allie scored the game winning run at the North Atlantic Regional playoffs to send SHU to their second world series. Next year, Allie will be a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Florida.
A huge thank you to the seniors for their four years of hard work, dedication, and leadership that they brought to this program. Congratulations and we wish you the best of luck on your future endeavors. You will all be greatly missed!
